Help yourself
One of the strategies you can use to make a change is barring yourself from gambling.
How do you do this?
You can talk to a staff member of the venue where you gamble — pub, club, hotel, Skycity Adelaide Casino or a TAB agency — and ask them to bar you from entering the gambling area for a period of time or indefinitely.
You can also ask Consumer and Business Services to bar you from entering an area where gambling takes place or from online gambling.
You can also ask to be barred from gambling activities such as betting on racing and sport and commercial lotteries including X Lotto, Keno and instant scratch tickets (Scratchies).

BetStop
BetStop is the national self-exclusion register provided by the Australian Federal Government. The initiative is a safe and free service which will help you to block yourself from all licensed Australian online and phone gambling providers.
Once registered, you will not be able to place a bet, open a new account or receive marketing messages from online and phone gambling providers.

Help your family member or friend
Are you a family member or friend of someone at risk of harming themselves or someone else due to gambling? You can request a third-party barring order to stop them entering gambling venues.
An order is legally binding and can stop people from:
- gambling at the casino
- entering areas in hotels and clubs with gaming machines
- betting on the races or sport
- buying commercial lottery tickets.
