Gambling support caters to all kinds of people with different backgrounds, ages, cultures and languages. A variety of free, confidential services are available, so you can access the one that fits you best and is the most effective.

What’s available?

  • Self-help and support strategies – can be a good place to start once you have decided to change your behaviour.
  • Telephone support – speak to a counsellor privately and when it’s convenient for you on the Gambling Helpline. Call 1800 858 858
  • Email support – it might be more convenient and less confronting to talk to a counsellor through email.
  • SMS reminders – subscribe to free monthly SMS reminders to get facts, message and information about gambling.
  • Gambling Help Online – contains a number of resources and help options.
  • Online chat – chat live to a counsellor about your gambling for free 24/7.
  • Face-to-face services – get free, confidential in person counselling for personal, financial and family issues related to gambling.
  • Specialist services – are available for cultural groups, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and people from the Chinese, Cambodian, Vietnamese and other multicultural communities.
  • Referrals to other services – get in touch with others who can help with things like mental health, drug, alcohol and legal issues.

These services are also available to the people around you who may be affected by gambling harm and need some support.
